10. Harold Abrahams
This great Olympian was born in 15 Dec 1899. He was a British athlete of Jewish origin. In 1924 he became the Olympic champion in the 100 meter sprint by beating number of great American runners. He received honor upon return in the 1981 film Chariots of Fire. This film won 4 Academy awards.
9. Eric Liddell
He was born in 16 Jan 1902.Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams were friends. These two were favorite for the 100 meter race. But Eric Liddell did his superb effort in 400 meter race and he won the men’s 400 meter at the 1924 Summer Olympics which was held in Paris. He not also won this race but also made the world record in this race. He was also depicted in the Oscar-winning film Chariots of Fire in 1981.
8. Linford Christie
This great British Olympian was born in 1960. He became the first oldest British Olympic when he won gold medal in 1992 at Barcelona. He was the first European to break the 10 second barrier in the 100 meter and still holds the British record in the event. With having numerous victories the career of this Olympian was ended when he received a 2 years ban for taking performance enhancing substance. He always denied about taking this banned substance.
7. David Hemery
A British former Athlete David Hemery was born in 1944. This great British Olympian won the 400 meter hurdles at the 1968 summer Olympics. He finished the track only in 48.12 second making a new world record. His performance helped him to win the 1968 BBC Sports Personality of the Year. AT the 1972 Summer Olympics Hemery defended his titled but could not defend it. He took the 3rd position.
6. Alan Well
This Great Olympian was born in 1952. He got the title of Olympic Champion in 100 meters at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. He also have number of other titles. His times and victories began to improve in 1978 session.His career was punctured by injury. He was the last white man to win an Olympic 100 meter final.
5. Duncan Goodhew
This Brithis Olympian was born in 1957 and is a British swimming athlete. He won the Gold and Bronze medals at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Duncan has not hairs on his body.
